State Senator Christy Zito (R – Mountain Home) took over 1,000 petitions to the Caldwell Night Rodeo that were from Idaho’s gun owners opposed to CNR’s gun-free zone.
Gun owners mobilized quickly last week and over the weekend to oppose CNR’s gun-free zone policy. In just a few days, over a thousand petitions were signed to tell the CNR that their policy was harmful to Idahoans.
Ironically, the CNR on Saturday honored veterans and gave away a gun, which you probably couldn’t hold until you were outside the venue.
And Governor Brad Little (R) decided to attend Saturday evening. Must be nice to have armed security with you at all times while your constituents are disarmed.
We are honored and grateful, however, that Sen. Zito took the time to drive to Caldwell with some other great pro-2A patriots to try and deliver your petitions to the CNR. Not surprisingly, no one wanted to deliver them from the front gate to the organizers.
So, the ISAA will mail the petitions to them via the address listed on CNR’s website.
We are grateful to all the Idaho gun owners who took the time to sign the petition, spoke out against the gun-free zone at CNR, and donated or became a member this last week. Your work and activism are what ultimately drive the ISAA and get things changed!
We will have more to say about the firearm preemption issue in the near future, and why the CNR was allowed to ban guns on public property.

Not in Idaho, especially at a rodeo! Thanks everyone and Sen.Christy Zito!
Thank you so much for your loyal commitment to protecting our 2nd amendment rights! You are a blessing!
what part of the problem is that you have city council members and zoning commissioners who have no loyalty to this state, they keep letting people move in from these blue States with the same ideas and thoughts that ruined the state they’re running from.
