The Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center has been added to the Idaho Anti‑Gun Accountability Center.
Hospitals across Idaho post similar anti‑gun signs and policies, even though criminals have never cared about “gun‑free zone” signage. Unlike most businesses, gun owners can’t simply take their money elsewhere when it comes to medical care. When every hospital adopts the same anti‑gun stance, there’s effectively no alternative for those who want to support an institution that respects their rights.
No written firearm policy appears on the EIRMC website, but signs are posted at the facility.
As with other Idaho businesses, most gun owners likely carry concealed in hospitals without incident. However, if hospital staff notice you’re carrying and ask you to leave, refusing to comply could result in a trespassing charge, the same mechanism used by other posted locations.
Because of these signs and the lack of a rights‑respecting alternative, the Idaho Second Amendment Alliance has added EIRMC to the Idaho Anti‑Gun Accountability Center so gun owners can stay informed. Visit IdahoAntiGun.com to see the full list or submit a tip of your own.
