A recent Reuters/Ipsos national poll shows a slim Republican lead on gun control, with 32% of Americans favoring the GOP’s hands-off approach over 28% for Democrats’ stricter laws. This 4% edge highlights sentiment favoring Second Amendment rights, a factor in tight elections.
The survey also addressed partisan plans for violent crime, revealing growing pro-gun support. Gun Owners of America (GOA) attributes the results to Republican legislative victories, including the repeal of the $200 National Firearms Act (NFA) tax on items like short-barreled rifles, shotguns, and suppressors. Although GOA sought full deregulation, it views the move as a step in the right direction.
Idaho Second Amendment Alliance supports the repeal of all restrictions on the Second Amendment.
