Press Release: Idaho Second Amendment Alliance Condemns Gun-Free Zone at Caldwell Night Rodeo

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
August 15, 2025

RIGBY, ID — The Idaho Second Amendment Alliance (ISAA) is calling out the Caldwell Night Rodeo for enforcing a gun-free zone that undermines the rights of law-abiding Idahoans and jeopardizes public safety.

“Gun-free zones don’t make anyone safer—they make citizens more vulnerable,” said Greg Pruett, President of ISAA. “Rodeos are a proud Idaho tradition, but banning firearms at a public event sends the wrong message in a state that values liberty and personal responsibility.”

ISAA has long opposed policies that disarm citizens, especially in public venues where families gather and threats cannot be predicted. The organization argues that such policies not only violate the spirit of Idaho’s constitutional protections but also ignore the reality that criminals don’t follow signs or rules.

“Idahoans shouldn’t have to choose between attending community events and exercising their rights,” Pruett added. “We’re urging the Caldwell Night Rodeo and other venues across the state to reconsider these misguided policies and stand with the people—not against them.”

The Idaho Second Amendment Alliance stands unwavering in its fight to strengthen Idaho’s firearm preemption law—so that every city, county, and public event respects the fundamental right to keep and bear arms. These protections aren’t just policy—they’re a promise to Idahoans. While the legislature continues to stall, ISAA will keep pressing forward until that promise is fulfilled.

ISAA is encouraging supporters to respectfully voice their concerns to event organizers and local officials. The group will continue to advocate for legislation that prohibits gun-free zones on public property and ensures Idaho remains a national leader in Second Amendment protections.

I absolutely stand with the ISAA on this…unless that absurd policy is canceled, so is my consideration of attending the event.

It is misguided to bring the federal constitution to bear in on state-level matters.

This is a state-level matter within the Idaho Constitution. Article 1, Sections 1 and 10 should very much be forwarded as the sole basis of this unacceptable behavior by the Caldwell Night Rodeo (CNR).

The press release needs to include that CNR is a business, a non-human non-breathing fictitious foreign entity to Idaho that should not have such “rights” above and beyond a human as to our Natural self-defense. Such this disposition that our state has towards businesses is reprehensible to our Natural Core.

The Caldwell Rodeo Grounds, also known as the D&B Arena, is operated and managed by the Board of Directors and Staff of the Caldwell Night Rodeo, which is a community organization. The facility is owned by the City of Caldwell. With it being recorded the rodeo grounds are public property, we see the City of Caldwell committing literal crimes against Idaho people. The phrase OWNED BY THE CITY OF CALDWELL is admission it is owned by WE THE PEOPLE. The rodeo fairgrounds are public domain and all Constitutional rights are retained by the people in such an area. To prohibit anyone from their Constitutionally protected rights is a U.S. rights violation and a violation of Idaho State Code. There is not a job description of anyone on earth who has the lawful ability to take the rights of people. To violate such a code means Caldwell Idaho authorities have committed crimes against the people and are thus literal criminals. If the City of Caldwell bans guns at a public event, they should be sued for civil rights violations. I have already stated many people should ban together and hire an attorney to file a Class Action Law Suit against the City of Caldwell, the Caldwell Police Dept. and the Mayor of Caldwell in their personal and professional capacity as a Mayor and police are under color of law. USC Title 18 sec. 242 states that anyone who while under color of law violates a persons rights, has in fact committed a crime against that person. EVERY PERSON who is denied what law allows should bring Caldwell PD and the Mayor and City Counsel to their knees in court and sue them for all they own. The Rodeo Grounds are PUBLIC DOMAIN. Gun Carry Regulations in Idaho
State Preemption
Idaho has a state preemption law that prevents local governments from regulating the ownership, possession, use, transportation, or carry of firearms. This means that cities and towns cannot create their own laws that restrict gun carry.
