Idaho Congressman Russ Fulcher (R – CD1) has signed onto a bill that will abolish the National Firearms Act!
H.R. 335 will abolish the NFA in its entirety, and is a step up from the Hearing Protection Act (which Fulcher also cosponsors). H.R. 335’s main sponsor is Rep. Eric Burlison (R – Missouri).
In addition to a few other pro-gun bills Fulcher cosponsors, he has signed onto both of Burlison’s massive pro-gun bills, H.R. 335 and H.R. 221. H.R. 221 is the bill that would abolish the ATF entirely, which gun owners have advocated for for decades.
On abolishing the NFA, Fulcher stated,
“The National Firearms Act (NFA) of 1934 has long imposed burdensome taxes and bureaucratic registration requirements that infringe on Idahoans’ constitutional right to keep and bear arms. I am proud to co-sponsor H.R. 335 to abolish the NFA and strip the ATF’s ability to enforce this gross infringement on our Second Amendment rights.”
The ISAA is glad to see Idaho has a congressman fighting for these issues, as gun owners often feel forgotten in such a pro-gun state.
Idaho Congressman Mike Simpson (R – CD2) has yet to cosponsor either piece of legislation. However, the ISAA remains determined to encourage his support for these two bills, which are of great importance to Idaho’s gun owners.
