The U.S. Supreme Court has upheld Biden-era gun control regulating firearm-parts kits, or what the gun grabbers love to call “ghost guns.”
Firearm kits have been around for a long time. During the Biden administration, the government pushed to have firearm parts-kits regulated and infringed upon because of their false belief that gun control would stop criminals from doing whatever they wanted.
Only two Justices, Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas, were smart enough to read the actual code and call out the hypocrisy of the court. Thomas said in his dissent, in part,
“The Government asked this Court just last Term to “re-write” statutory text so that it could regulate semi-automatic weapons as machine guns. We declined to do so. The government now asks us to rewrite statutory text so that it can regulate weapon-parts kits. This time, the Court obliges. I would not.”
Seems like common sense, right?
However, seven of the Justices, including two appointed by President Donald Trump in his last term, Brett Kavanagh and Amy Koney Barrett, sided with the liberal side of the court in clear violation of the Second Amendment. They also did it, as Thomas pointed out, in direct contradiction to their own guidance from previous opinions.
For decades, gun owners have wanted to get rid of gun control, often hoping the Court would do the right thing, especially since Trump got to appoint several Justices.
There are cases headed to the Supreme Court right now. Some of them deal with magazine bans, while others deal with bans on rifles the gun grabbers feel should be banned because they look scary.
With the Bruen opinion in 2022, gun owners may have had some hope for many of these cases heading toward the Supreme Court. Now, gun owners are going to be much more nervous about what the Court may do.
We cannot rely on the courts to do the right thing. That’s always been the case.
The reality is, unless U.S. citizens wake up to how bad their congressional leaders are and elect congressmen who will protect the right to keep and bear arms, nothing will change. The courts will continue to infringe on the Second Amendment.
