FBI Director Kash Patel plans to move 1,000 ATF agents to the FBI.
The cut to the ATF, welcomed by real gun owners everywhere, is one-third of the agents they have. While shutting down the ATF for good would be the best Patel could do, this is a great step at reigning in the rogue agency.
Although the agents are being reassigned to the FBI, there are disputes about the purpose of the move. Some of it appears to be aimed at getting more agents to help with issues at the southern border, according to a source within the ATF, who also disputed that the ATF is giving up its agents.
Gun owners have grown tired of the ATF and its constant meddling and attacks on gun shops and gun owners.
Rather than focusing on actual criminals, the ATF seems to be doing the job of gun grabbing organizations by constantly writing rules to infringe on the Second Amendment. They come up with their own definitions outside congressional approval (which also doesn’t count) and ban things like forced reset triggers.
The ATF should not exist, and gun owners should celebrate any cuts to the agency that can ultimately lead to its demise.
Rep. Eric Burlison (R-MO) introduced H.R. 221, abolishing the ATF. If you haven’t already signed the Idaho Second Amendment Alliance petition to support H.R. 221, be sure to do so by clicking here.
