The only Whole Foods in Idaho, located in Boise, has made it clear it doesn’t want customers to be able to defend themselves. The store posts a weapon‑ban sign at the entrance, despite having no security, no screening, and no meaningful safety measures of any kind. What they do have is a sign telling law‑abiding Idahoans their right to self‑defense isn’t welcome.

Whole Foods is owned by Amazon, a corporation well known for its left‑leaning policies. So it’s no surprise the Boise location follows the same corporate mindset. Still, in a state like Idaho, you’d think they’d avoid alienating a huge portion of their customer base. Or maybe Whole Foods is banking on Boise’s growing liberal voter bloc to keep the store afloat.

These signs carry no force of law in Idaho. Concealed carriers can legally enter the store. If staff discover you’re carrying and ask you to leave, refusing could lead to a trespass charge, but otherwise, there are no legal consequences for carrying inside Whole Foods.

Whole Foods can choose whatever policy it wants. Idahoans can choose where to spend their money. That’s the beauty of freedom.
