Ask Your Lawmakers to Co-Sponsor Sen. Zito’s Firearm Preemption Bill!

While Idaho citizens are fined or jailed for violating Idaho’s laws, there is no accountability when a government official knowingly and willfully violates Idaho’s firearm preemption law.

Why should a government official who violates the right to keep and bear arms not face punishment for doing so?

Sen. Christy Zito’s (R – Mtn. Home) bill (RS 32126) will let judges impose a $5,000 fine against any government official who knowingly and willfully violates the firearm preemption law. That fine and the defense of the official’s action cannot be covered with taxpayer money.

Finally, the judge can then issue an injunction against the violation.

It’s time to update our firearm preemption law, and we need you to contact your lawmakers to ask them to co-sponsor Sen. Zito’s legislation!
